It is headed for Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Lake Tahoe. In coming weeks, it will be touring Central and South America.

October 10, 2005: Dornier Do-24ATT departure

Dornier Do-24ATT, September 2005 The unique Dornier Do-24ATT turbo-prop, tri-motor amphibian, call sign Romeo Papa Charlie two four zero three, recently visited the Santa Barbara Airport. It departed from the Santa Barbara Airport at 11:45 A.M. on Monday, October 10 and flew to the Los Angeles Yacht Club, Cabrillo Beach, where it made a water landing. It was displayed there until October 12. It is continuing on its tour to the San Diego Maritime Museum, San Francisco Bay, and Lake Tahoe. It will return to Santa Barbara on October 24. In coming months, it will be touring Central and South America.

The Experimental Aircraft Association's Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Aluminum Overcast arrived at the Santa Barbara Airport on Monday, April 17, 2006. On Tuesday and Wednesday Aluminum Overcast carried aviation enthusiasts aloft on nostalgia flights. On Thursday it departed for Riverside.

June 19 - 25, 2006: Santa Barbara Air Attack Station operations

Three aerial tankers and a pair of Air Attack planes came to the Santa Barbara Air Attack Station to fight the Perkins Fire in the Los Padres National Forest on Monday, June 19. The fire was 100% contained by June 26.

Santa Barbara Air Attack Station operations, September 9, 2006 A wildfire broke out northwest of Goleta on Saturday, September 9. A variety of tankers and air attack airplanes arrived at the Santa Barbara Air Attack Station to fight the fire Saturday afternoon.

Santa Barbara Air Attack Station Day Fire operations Tankers fought the Day Fire from the Santa Barbara Air Attack Station for ten days, from Monday, September 18 to Wednesday September 27. Three Lockheed P-2 Neptunes and four Lockheed P-3 Orions were photographed during the period.

September 30, 2006: Santa Barbara Airport Adventure

Santa Barbara Airport Adventure, Saturday, September 30, 2006 On September 30, 2006, the Santa Barbara Airport hosted Airport Adventure, a salute to local aviation emergency responders. A number of airplanes, helicopters, and fire trucks were opened up for the public to examine. The show featured flybys of a North American T-28 Trojan and a Grumman F8F Bearcat. Five more T-28 Trojans arrived later in the morning. A Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter demonstrated the retrieval of a crewman as it hovered overhead. A Cessna Citation and a pair of Aerovodochody L-39 Albatrosses made two passes over the airport.

Boeing B-17G N9323Z Sentimental Journey at the Santa Barbara Airport, April 2007 Boeing B-17G N9323Z Sentimental Journey has been operated by the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force for over a quarter of a century. It arrived at the Santa Barbara Airport on Monday, April 23, 2007 and stayed until Friday April 27.

Collings Foundation Bombers at Santa Barbara, May 7 - 9, 2007 The Collings Foundation Bombers, Boeing B-17G N93012 Nine-O-Nine, North American B-25J Mitchell, NL3746G Tondelayo, and Consolidated B-24J Liberator Witchcraft arrived at the Santa Barbara Airport on Monday, May 7, 2007 and departed for San Luis Obispo on Wednesday, May 9. The bombers made a number of revenue generating flights, taking aviation enthusiasts aloft for about a half hour.
