The 2004 Pt Mugu airshow was held on September 18 and 19. Humid conditions resulted in impressive vapor condensation in the low pressure around the fast and maneuvering jets.

North American SNJ-5 Texan, N1038A War Dog was built in 1944. Its U.S. Navy Bureau Number was 90917 and it still wears that number on its tail. After retirement from the U. S. Navy, it served for many years with the Japanese Air Self Defense Force. It has been a familiar sight on the airshow circuit for many years. It is owned and piloted by John Collver.
War Dog's show concluded with a pyrotechnics display.
