The N9M-B Flying Wing taxis past a pair of F-117 Full Scale Development (FSD) prototypes, serials 79-01782 and 79-01783. These early model stealth fighters lack some of the radar defeating refinements of the production models. The cockpit canopies lack the serrated edges of the F-117A. Lockheed-Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon, serial 88-445, is in position to receive fuel from Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker, serial 61-0320. The R-model Stratotanker has been re-engined with high-bypass General Electric/SNECMA CFM-56 turbofans which significantly increase the amount of fuel that can be off-loaded by the tanker. The engine inlets of this U-2S have been enlarged to provide the increased airflow needed by the 19,000 pound thrust General Electric F118-GE-101 turbofan that replaced the 17,000 pound thrust Pratt & Whitney J75-P-13B engine with which it was originally equipped.
