I arrived at LAX at sunrise on Thursday, November 29, to photograph the Airbus A380 making a demonstration flight on its second visit to the airport. While waiting for its departure, I photographed several airliners and freighters taking off.

The theme building is surrounded by scaffolding while it is undergoing restoration.

Korean Airlines Boeing 777-2B5ER HL7598. Its construction number is 27949. It was delivered to Korean Airlines on September 28, 2001.
Continental Boeing 737-824 N24212 flight 1805 to Atlanta. Its construction number is 28772. It was delivered to Continental on June 30, 1998.
UPS Boeing 767-34AF N307UP flight UPS2917 to Dallas-Fort Worth. Its construction number is 27760. It was delivered to UPS on August 20, 1996.

Fedex McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F N596FE flight FDX608 to Memphis. Its construction number is 48554. It was delivered to American Airlines on March 25, 1993. Federal Express acquired it on September 27, 2000.
Delta Boeing 737-832 N393DA flight DAL1625 to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Its construction number is 30377. It made its first flight registered as N1780B on December 6, 1999. It was delivered to Delta as N393DA on December 20, 1999.
DHL McDonnell-Douglas DC-8-73CF N807DH flight DHL803 from Airborne Airpark, Wilmington, Ohio. Its construction number is 45990. It was delivered to Flying Tiger Line as DC-8-63CF N780FT on July 17, 1968. Cargolux acquired it and registered it as TF-CCV on June 30, 1977. Cargolux leased it to Air India in April 1983 and then to Evergreen International in January 1984. Evergreen International converted it to a DC-8-73CF with CFM International (a GE/SNECMA collaboration) CFM-56 engines and registered it as N816EV on January 5, 1985. Evergreen International leased it to Air India in July 1985, to TNT Express on July 1, 1992, and then to United Parcel Service on April 8, 1994. DHL Airways registered it as N816UP in March 1995 and leased it to UPS on March 27, 1995. UPS returned it to DHL on April 28, 1996 which registered it as N807DH in June 1996. It has been registered to Astar Air Cargo since June 30, 2003.
Delta Boeing 757-232 N651DL flight DAL132 to JFK. Its construction number is 24391. It was delivered to Delta on July 26, 1989. It was transferred to Delta's subsidiary, Song, on August 4, 2003 and back to Delta on May 1, 2006.
QANTAS Boeing 747-438ER VH-OEE flight QFA93 from Melbourne. It is the first 747-400ER and its construction number is 32909. It made its first flight in Boeing Company livery as N747ER on June 26, 2002. It was delivered to QANTAS as VH-OEE on December 6, 2002.
Aeromexico Boeing 737-752 XA-HAM flight AMX18 to Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport, Mexico City. Its construction number is 33789. It was delivered to Aeromexico on June 29, 2004.
Airbus A380-841 F-WWJB took off on a demonstration flight at 7:30.
Northwest Boeing 747-451 N662US flight NWA2 from New Tokyo International Airport, Japan. It is the second 747-400 and its construction number is 23720. It was delivered to Northwest on March 13, 1989.
UPS Airbus A300 F4-622R N150UP flight UPS2929 to Orlando International Airport, Florida. Its construction number is 833. It was delivered to UPS on May 15, 2003.
American McDonnell-Douglas MD-82 N478AA flight AAL1182 to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Texas. Its construction number is 49653. It was delivered to American on November 22, 1988.
Fedex McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F N592FE flight FDX431 to Memphis. Its construction number is 48550. It was delivered to American as MD-11 N1760A on February 11, 1993. Fedex converted it to an MD-11F and registered it as N592FE on January 13, 2000.

Airborne Express Boeing 767-281 N790AX flight ABX1653 to Airborne Airpark, Wilmington, Ohio. Its construction number is 23140. It was delivered to All Nippon as JA8238 on February 7, 1985. Airborne Express leased it and registered it as N790AX on September 26, 2000. ABX Air bought it on August 15, 2003.
American Eagle Embraer EMB-135KL N807AE flight EGF197 to San Diego. Its construction number is 145506. It was delivered to American Eagle on September 20, 2001.

Delta Boeing 767-432ER N827MH flight DAL 1186 to Atlanta. It is the second 767-400 and its construction number is 29705. It made its first flight as N827MH on December 30, 1999. It made a demonstration flight to Melbourne, Australia in Delta livery in February 2000. Boeing gave it the temporary registration of N76400 (which was also worn by the 767-400 prototype c/n 29703) and applied a Boeing Company demonstrator livery for its appearance at the 2000 Farnborough Airshow. It was delivered to Delta as N827MH on February 24, 2001.
After the Airbus A380 took off on its demonstration flight, I moved to Lot B to photograph airplanes on approach to land.

American McDonnell-Douglas MD-83 N435AA flight AAL1055 from Denver. Its construction number is 49453. It was delivered to American as an MD-82 on July 29, 1987. It was converted to an MD-83 in January 1993.

US Airways Boeing 737-3G7 N307AW Flight AWE101 from McCarren International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada. Its construction number is 24634. It was delivered to America West Airlines on February 27, 1990. It was transferred to US Airways on March 3, 2007.

Airbus A380-841 F-WWJB returned from its demonstration flight at 9:00. It departed for Sydney, Australia Friday morning at 8:00 in heavy rain.
