Camarillo Airshow

The Camarillo Airport hosted an airshow over the weekend of August 18 - 19. The airshow was sponsored by Chapter 723 of the Experimental Aircraft Association and featured flying performances by the airplanes of the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.

Beech C-45H N314WN is restored as a Marine Corps SNB instrument trainer assigned to MCAS El Toro. Its construction number is AF.566 and it was delivered to the Air Force as 52-10636.
North American T-28C Trojan N528TC was delivered to the U.S. Navy as BuNo 146253 in 1957. Its construction number is 252-16. Southern California Aviation of Corona Del Mar, California registered it as N912KK in January 1986. Daniel W. Lawson of Las Vegas, Nevada acquired it in 1988. It has been registered to Sandpiper Aviation of Reno, Nevada since January 4, 2002.
Piaggio P-180 N130SL was built in 2004. Its construction number is 1084.

Learjet 36A N17A was built in 1980. Its construction number is 046.
Siai-Marchetti SF260C NX688C is registered to Wingspan Incorporated of Malibu. Its construction number is 466 (37-004).
A plume of smoke could be seen rising from the Zaca Fire in the distance.

Pitts S-2B N45D was built by Aviat Incorporated in 1994. Its construction number is 5332.
Pitts S-2B N260MM was built by Christen Industries Incorporated in 1990. Its construction number is 5186.
Extra EA 300L N422D was built in 1996. Its construction number is 028.
NXT N42XT Relentless race #42 was built by Kevin Eldridge. It is registered to Relentless Air RAcing LLC of San Luis Obispo.
North American P-51D Mustang, N514DK is registered to DK Warbirds at Las Vegas. Its North American construction number is 124-48311. Its orginal Army Air Force serial number was 45-11558. It was registered as N6175C by Aerodynamics Inc. of Pontiac, Michigan in 1963. James Gorman of Mansfield, Ohio bought it in 1966 and then sold it to Herbert Rupp of Port Salerno, Florida. It crashed in Georgia in 1967 and was rebuilt using parts of 44-74829 and 44-73822. It was registered to John Dilly of Auburn, Indiana in 1969. John Rutherford of Fort Worth, Texas acquired it in 1978. It was sold to Courtesy Aircraft of Rockford, Illinois in 1982 and then to Joe Kasperoff at Montebello, California a year later. It crashed on take-off at Van Nuys on August 6, 1985. Bill Jones registered it as N151BJ for a short while before receiving its current registration in August 1999.
