A Boeing-McDonnell-Douglas Delta-II
launched another constellation of Iridium telephone satellites
from Vandenberg AFB at 9:44 A.M. P.S.T. on February 11, 2002.
The Delta-II pitches over to the
south to head for polar orbit.
The three air-lit solid-fueled
boosters ignite as the thrust of the six ground-lit boosters
tapers off.
