On Saturday, January 31, 2009, the Amtrak Coast Starlight was pulling a pair of vintage streamliner cars: the Southern Pacific Overland Trail and the Boston and Maine Salisbury Beach.

The Coast Starlight Overland Trail Salisbury Beach Conductor Bill Hatrick of the Overland Trail stands at the door of the Salisbury Beach. These two vintage rail cars will pass through the area again on May 16 at the beginning of a tour of the Pacific Northwest. Next stop, San Luis Obispo. On Thursday, June 30, 2005, the Amtrak Coast Starlight was pulling two vintage rail cars, the Southern Pacific Overland Trail and the Pennsylvania Colonial Crafts.
